MAY
Intro to Linocut Printmaking
Date: 4th May to 15th June (no class 8th June)

In this hands-on short course, you will be introduced to a range of linocut and relief printmaking techniques. Working with lino, MDF and Ezy-Carve, you will learn how to design, carve, and print a series of relief blocks by hand and with a printing press. Participants will also learn about different kinds of printing techniques, such as printing on cotton-rag paper and fabric, multi-block printing and hand-colouring prints. All printmaking materials included. This course is eco-aware and solvent free.
Eco-Friendly Etching

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to design and etch a plate using BIG ground. Invented by Andrew Baldwin (Wales), BIG is a non-toxic alternative to traditional etching grounds. Hard ground is fantastic for fine lines, detailed imagery and intuitive mark making. You will take home a collection of prints and the skills to continue etching in your own studio. All printmaking materials provided.

Invented by Andrew Baldwin (Wales), BIG is a non-toxic alternative to traditional etching grounds. Hard ground is fantastic for fine lines, detailed imagery and intuitive mark making. Resist etching is great for achieving graphic marks, text, and strong positive/negative imagery. You will take home a collection of prints and the skills to continue etching in your own studio. This workshop is eco-aware and petrochemical free.
