​JUNE

Linocut Printmaking
Level: Beginner, 12+
Date: 8th of June

Learn how to design, carve and print your own lino block patterns and illustrations onto paper and fabric in this hands-on workshop led by highly-qualified printmaking artist and educator Hanah Williams.

Participants will be guided through the process of sketching and preparing their designs, carving their composition out of an Ezy Carve block using a range of techniques, and how to print by hand onto both paper and fabric. 

​All printmaking tools and materials will be supplied; participants are encouraged to bring any reference images or items for inspiration and clothing or textile items to print onto. Students will take home a collection of finished prints, carved lino blocks, their own set of carving tools and the skills required to continue printing at home. 

This age-inclusive workshop is suitable for participants aged 12+ and is designed for complete beginners, no prior printmaking experience required.

Intro to Linocut Printmaking (McLaren Vale) 
Level: Beginner, 16+

​In this hands-on workshop, learn how to design, carve and print a linocut block by hand. Using a range of linocut printmaking techniques, you will take home a lino block, a set of carving tools, a collection of prints on paper, and the skills to carve and print at home. This workshop is eco-friendly and solvent free. All printmaking materials and equipment supplied. 



Intro to Linocut Printmaking (Burnside) 
Level: Beginner

In this hands-on workshop, learn how to design, carve and print an ‘ezy carve’ block by hand. You will take home a lino block, a set of carving tools, a collection of prints on paper, and the skills to continue carving and printing at home.



Intro to Intaglio Printmaking
Level: Beginner 
Date: 24th of June

In this hands-on workshop learn how to create a drypoint intaglio print. Working on acrylic, you will be introduced to a range of drypoint etching techniques and produce a series of prints using an etching press.



JULY

The Etched Line: Printing on Fabric
Date: Sunday 6th of July

In this hands-on-workshop you will achieve fine tonal qualities pertaining to the etching technique. You will learn how to design, etch on metal and print your etching onto cotton paper and fabric.
Unlike any other methods of printing onto fabric, this process embraces the qualities that an etching holds, such as a tonal range and the ability to achieve fine lines. Discover the possibilities that etching has and how it can be used in your own practice.
You will take home a collection of prints on paper and fabric, etching plates, and the skills to continue etching in your own studio. This workshop is eco-friendly and uses the latest research in printmaking processes.

Over the course of two days, you will explore different approaches to art making with artists Alex Beckinsale, Hanah Williams, and Carly Snoswell. Each two-hour workshop will focus on developing your skills in different materials and techniques. You will be encouraged to explore your ideas and artistic expression creatively.
